Ban Unwanted Christmas Gifts

Oxfam Unwrapped have had a big campaign leading up to Christmas this year about banning rubbish presents for people. A recent survey revealed that many people cannot remember what gifts they received for Christmas last year.

In fact it gets worse than that. 1 in 10 people remember what gifts they got and from who but the majority end up giving away presents, throwing presents away or leaving them to fester unwrapped and gather dust in the bottom of their wardrobe.

The internet seems to be changing all that and making it easier to promote good causes. The idea of buying gifts that the recipient doesn't receive but someone else around the world benefits from instead, has been building up for a few years now.

From buying a goat or llama for a farmer to provide an income for his family, veterinary treatment and medicine for a donkey that helps work the land to provide food for african villages, a toilet, clean water or schoolbooks for a school. These are all items that we take for granted on an everyday basis, but can make such a difference to somebody else.

So instead of wasting your hard earned money on silly unwanted gifts, why not go online instead and purchase a Christmas present that someone WILL appreciate.

Make a real difference this year - Choose a Gift that's needed.
